What are church outfit etiquette rules teenagers should follow?
Your outfit should not show too much skin
A church is a place of worship that requires respect, so you might want to cover more skin. Also, covering skin enough could reduce distraction because you don’t draw much attention compared to showing much skin. Therefore, you should avoid shorts, short skirts, low-neckline tops, etc. Also, you become more confident and feel less odd when your outfit covers enough skin while going to church.
Try and avoid outfits that are too tight; just keep them modest
It’s also part of church outfit etiquette to wear clothes that speak modesty. You should avoid wearing tight clothes when going to church because they show all the curves. You might not feel comfortable standing, singing, or receiving the sacrament. Also, it is suggested that tight clothes can make church members get distracted, which is not fair.
It is suggested that you minimize animal prints
Most people talk about not wearing animal prints as main outfits to church because styling them can make you look more sexy than decent. It is, however, suggested that you can wear minimal animal prints, as in maybe as a piece of jewelry or sweater.
Also, it is advised to use minimal accessories
Accessories could make your outfit look better and give a statement about yourself. Therefore, it is suggested that you consider using a few accessories like studs, short earrings, and maybe a bracelet. In the shot, your outfit could have a maximum of two accessories for modesty and avoid flashy jewelry.
Again, keep heels three inches and below if you like heels
Heels are believed to eventuate ladies’ physique, so the higher the inch, the more the figure is seen, and remember, the goal is not to distract others but to be modest and comfortable. Therefore, you should consider wearing three inches or shorter to avoid attracting attention and, most importantly, to be comfortable walking in heels. Also, it is suggested that you should be good at walking in heels to avoid noise while walking or even falling.
Avoid Cargo pants, baggy trousers, and sweatpants
This is mostly for the boys; while you are advised to avoid skinny trousers, too baggy trousers, cargo pants, and sweatpants are also a no. They are believed to be giving an attitude carefree, and they are not so modest.
Make sure you are comfortable in that outfit
You should put on something that does not need high maintenance—you won’t have to keep fixing it. Just go with a comfortable outfit for the church occasion.
Also, Lipsticks are a no
If you love makeup, you will have to go with light makeup and use gloss instead of lipstick. Especially for those who go to churches that have a crucifix and might want to kiss it, lipstick is a no.
