The Bible is silent about RH-negative blood; it does not mention anything about it. Blood groups were first discovered in 1940, implying that this was still an unknown thing at the time of writing the Bible. However, many Bible scholars speculate that the Nephilim, mentioned in the Bible in Numbers 13:33 and Genesis 6:1–8, had RH-negative blood. Does the Bible talk about RH’s negative blood?
The Bible does not mention Rh-negative blood at all. However, many theories have been formulated by scholars who have tried to demystify where the Rh-negative blood could have originated. They have quoted scripture in Numbers 13:33 and Genesis 6:1–8. This particular verse mentions the Nephilim, a people who were giants and were regarded as supernaturally strong and huge beings. Many theologians have linked them to RH-negative blood, but these are assumptions that cannot be verified.
A notion suggests that RH-negative blood holders are different from human beings as they have special unique abilities, but this is not so. We are created in God’s image according to the Bible in Genesis 1:26-27; therefore, nobody is superior to the other based on whether they are RH-negative individuals or not. Furthermore, the Bible does not discriminate against RH-negative blood, or any blood type for that matter, anywhere, as there are no clear records to prove this.
Why are the Nephilim associated with RH-negative blood?
In Genesis 6:4, the Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old men of renown. The Nephilim were speculated to be Children borne between angels and daughters of men.
The result is suggested to be people who were unique in height and strength. Their genetics were quite different from normal people’s genetics at that time. The Nephilim had giant-like features and were very rare at the time. Because of these features, many scholars imply they must have had RH-negative blood. These rare features are generally categorized under Rh-null and RH-negative blood types which are not often the case in normal circumstances. Thus, many scholars have associated Nephilim with RH-negative blood because of their abnormal genetic construction. These are, however, theories that people have come up with based on their interpretation of the Bible, and scripture does not record any of these assumptions as true.
How are the Nephilim introduced in the Bible?
The Nephilim are first mentioned in the Bible in the book of Genesis. Genesis 6:4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days–and afterward as well–when the sons of God had relations with the daughters of men. And they bore them children who became the mighty men of old, men of renown. The Nephilim are believed to be children that were sired between sons of God, angels, and daughters of men. They are implied to be extremely tall and giant-like in physical appearance.
They threatened people with normal physical features as they were pretty huge beings. However, the scripture implies that they had the same physical characteristics as normal humans, only that their features were exaggerated in size and height.
The Nephilim are again mentioned in the book of Numbers. Numbers 13:33 We even saw the Nephilim there—the descendants of Anak that come from the Nephilim! We seemed like grasshoppers in our sight, and we must have seemed the same to them. This was when Joshua sent out spies to go and look at the promised land. They came back and reported that they had seen the Nephilim; they suggested that compared to their physical appearance, they were like grasshoppers.
Are the Nephilim talked about in the New Testament?
The New Testament suggests the existence of the Nephilim, although it does not directly mention them. In Jude 6:7, And the angels who did not keep their [c]proper domain, but left their abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day; 7 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
This verse implies the existence of the Nephilim; we had earlier hinted that the Nephilim were born from sexual relations between sons of God, angels, and daughters of men. This verse suggests that the angels categorized as fallen and sinful left their positions in heaven and came to earth where there have sexual relations with the daughters of men. Thus the Nephilim were born. However, it should be noted that there is no direct mention of the Nephilim here, just hints of their existence.
Are people with rhesus-negative blood cursed in the Bible?
The Bible does not mention anywhere that people with RH-negative blood are cursed. The Bible is silent on the subject of blood types. It only speaks about blood but, generally, the normal blood that is shed when an animal is slaughtered, the blood of Jesus Christ, and blood that was shed during wars and violence, which is quite clear.
Deuteronomy 28:15 “But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe all His commandments and His statutes, which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you. This verse implies that the curse of God falls on those who disobey the rules and guidelines God has set for us. The Bible does not speak about people being cursed based on their genetic construction regarding blood group types or their physical appearance.
Who are the Nephilim in the Bible?
The Nephilim are speculated to be a product of mating between sons of God and daughters of men in Genesis 6:4. The sons of God are speculated to be fallen angels and demons who went against the Lord and came to earth. It is thought that these demons might have had intercourse with the daughters of men or possessed human males who then had intercourse with the female daughters of men.
The result of this was a gigantic race of people who are suggested to have been very evil. Many people have mistaken Nephilim for rock monsters, aliens, and angel watchers, but these are just people’s beliefs that cannot be verified. The Nephilim are presumed to have been normal, just like us humans, in their physical appearance.
Many scholars have devised theories to explain precisely who these people were. Some of the theories suggest that;
The first theory is that the sexual relations between daughters of men and fallen angels resulted in the Nephilim, believed to be half human and half supernatural.
The other theory is that the sons of God were just humans who had sinned and fallen, and when they had relations with daughters of men because of their wickedness, they bore the Nephilim.
Another theory speculates that the Nephilim resulted from the Seth bloodline that was righteous; the sons of God are said to be from this bloodline, and they mated with the daughters of men, resulting in the Nephilim.
The last theory implied that fallen angels, demons who left their dominions in heaven after disobeying God, mated with the daughters of men, resulting in the Nephilim.
It should be noted, however, that these theories are people’s speculations based on their interpretations of various scriptural passages, but they cannot be proven true.
Are there descendants of the Nephilim on earth today?
No direct evidence proves that the Nephilim are on earth today. However, some Biblical scriptures suggest that the Nephilim were the main reason God allowed the flood during Noah’s time. They are speculated to have been wicked people who displeased God and pushed Him to blot out everything from the surface of the earth because of their evil deeds.
Genesis 6:5-7 the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord regretted that he had made man on earth, and it grieved him to his heart. So the Lord said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.” At that time in the Era of the Nephilim, they did evil and thought about doing evil things constantly, which is suggested to have grieved God to the point that he regretted the creation of man. Scholars imply that God gave Noah instructions to build the ark right after the Nephilim are mentioned in the Bible.
God decided to blot out everything He had created from the earth’s surface. The aftermath of the flood is speculated to have been the end of the Nephilim people in Genesis 6:11–22. It is suggested that they perished together with all the other creatures left out of the ark.
