He died on the cross for our forgiveness because he loves us, and we are his friends.

Therefore, a good friendship should have Love. Because according to 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, the Bible suggests that Love is kind, patient, does not envy, and does not dishonour others. It also suggests that Love is not self-seeking and keeps no record of wrongs. These are all the qualities needed in a good friendship; hence Love is the greatest value of a good friendship, according to the Bible.

Also, another value of friendship, according to the Bible, is being honest with each other even though it hurts. Proverbs 27:6 reads, “Faithful are the wounds of a friend; profuse are the kisses of an enemy.” The context of this verse is that a friend will tell you the truth even if it will hurt you without flattering you, while your enemy will tell you what you want to hear, even if it is a lie and can destroy you in the future. Therefore, a good friendship involves people who are honest with each other and ready to correct one another when they make a mistake.
