Genesis 2:7 tells us that God created Adam from dust and breathed into his nostrils. And God soon realized that Adam was lonely, so he created a helper for him. According to Genesis 2:21, God formed Eve from one of Adam’s ribs when he was asleep.

Genesis 2:8 tells us that after God created Eve and Adam, he placed them in the Garden of Eden. This verse describes Eden as a garden in the East. Though the Bible does not clearly state which part of the world our first parents started their lives in, many Biblical scholars speculate that they first lived in Iraq.
