As a devoted Christian and theologian, I am interested in spreading the Gospel. Jesus instructed His disciples to continue spreading it to all nations. Two years ago, I was intrigued by the topic of sharing the Gospel of God and decided to conduct more research. I studied the Bible keenly and even held discussions with pastors, Bishops, and other church leaders to learn everything on this topic. Recently, I was teaching my college students about the importance of preaching the Gospel to others, and they seemed to have exciting questions. One student asked whether sharing the Gospel enables one to go to Heaven, while another was curious about what would happen if one does not spread the Gospel. Having studied every scripture in the Bible about this topic, I had all the answers they wanted to know. So, do I need to spread the Gospel to go to Heaven?
The Bible does not specify that one has to spread the Gospel to go to Heaven. Mark 16:15 says that Jesus instructed his disciples to go and spread the Gospel to all creation. Jesus did not tell the disciples this would enable them to go to Heaven. However, John 3:5 says that Jesus taught that no one can go to Heaven unless they are born of the spirit and water, and John 3:16 teaches that those who believe in Jesus Christ will have everlasting life. Therefore, to be accepted into Heaven, you have to accept you are a sinner, ask for forgiveness, accept Jesus as your Christ’s savior, and believe in his teachings.

What does the Bible say about spreading the Gospel?
The Bible says that Jesus instructed his followers to spread the Gospel to everyone. Mark 16:15 says that Jesus told his disciples to spread the Gospel to all nations. Therefore, the Bible instructs us to spread the Gospel to everyone. Spreading the Gospel enables others to learn the teachings of the Lord to start believing in Jesus Christ. It is your duty as a Christina to spread the Gospel to everyone since this is the instruction that Jesus left us before he ascended to Heaven.
Is not sharing the Gospel a sin?
Not sharing the Gospel can be categorized as a sin as a Christian. James 4:17 says that you sin if you fail to do what you know is right. You are sinning the sin of omission, which is failing to do what you know is right. As a Christian, you know that you are supposed to share the Gospel with other people for them to learn the will of God and for their sins to be forgiven so they can receive eternal life. However, you decided not to share the Gospel with them. You know that the Gospel will give them hope for eternal life in Heaven and decided not to give them this hope.
What happens if you don’t spread the Gospel?
If you don’t spread the Gospel, you are missing out on two blessings from Jesus Christ: the blessing of obedience to Jesus Christ and the blessing of giving. Jesus gave instructions in Matthew 28:19-20 to spread the Gospel that he has taught to everyone, and we are blessed when we obey the commands of Jesus Christ. Therefore, if you don’t spread the Gospel, you disobey Jesus Christ and miss out on his blessings.
Also, in Acts 20:35, Paul quoted the words of Jesus Christ and said that one gets more blessings while giving than receiving. Therefore, Jesus blesses those who give with more blessings, so when you spread the Gospel, you receive more blessings from him. However, if you don’t spread the Gospel to others, you are denying yourself these blessings.
Why should Christians spread the Gospel?
Christians should spread the Gospel to follow Jesus’ steps when he was on earth. 1 Peter 2:21 says that we are called to follow the steps of Jesus Christ because he suffered on earth to leave us an example. When Jesus was on earth, he lived a normal life for his followers to emulate after he ascended to Heaven. Jesus taught the Gospel to everyone, not caring whether they were sinners or not. Therefore, as a Christian, you should follow the steps of Jesus Christ and lead a righteous life as he did. That is why you should spread the Gospel like he did.
What is the best way to share the Gospel?
The best way to share the Gospel is through the Holy Spirit. John 15:26-27 says that Jesus told his disciples that he would send them a helper, the Holy Spirit, from God to tell them more about Jesus Christ, and they would tell others about Jesus Christ too. The Holy Spirit knows how to share the Gospel and is sent by Jesus Christ to his followers to help them understand the Gospel to share it with others. You cannot share the Gospel without having the Holy Spirit in your life. Therefore, you need to pray for the Holy Spirit to help you understand the Gospel as you share it with others.
