Jesus is the Bread of life because the gospel of John implies that Jesus is the foundation of our spiritual life. While in His earthly ministries, Jesus performed several miracles, among them the feeding of the multitude of a multitude of five thousand people with five loaves of Bread and two fish. Demonstratively, this meant that he was the key to our spiritual nourishment and the source of our life. John suggests that Jesus is supreme to the Father ad that only through Him can one receive salvation of life and eventually enter the kingdom of God with a promise of eternal life.

What does it mean that Jesus is the Bread of life?
By calling Himself the Bread of life, Jesus simply meant that humans could not be satisfied in faith unless we know Him and abide by what He teaches. (John 6:22). Jesus is our spiritual leader. He was sent by God the Almighty and came down to earth to redeem us of our sins.
He accepted to be spat on, humiliated, crucified on the cross, and die for the sake of our sins. He reconciled us with God through His death on the cross. The face of the world has been redeemed, and everyone has found a name in Jesus’ favor. By the death of Jesus, He took away the curse of sin and rescued those of us who receive His forgiveness from spiritual death.
Christians are challenged to turn to God, the source of eternal life. We build our Christian faith, and we profess our Christianity. We acknowledge that He is our leader and that all we do significantly revolves around Him. Jesus is our alpha and omega, the beginning and the end. Through His power, we are all saved and are worthy to become heirs of eternal life.
Where in the Bible does it say Jesus is the Bread of life?
We learn of Jesus as the Bread of life from the gospel of John. In John 6:35. Jesus says. “I am the bread; whoever comes to me shall not hunger.”
Jesus demonstrates to us that, indeed, it is through Him that we, believers, shall enter into the kingdom of God. He is our way through which all God’s wishes for us will be achieved. Believers are challenged to celebrate in the breaking of Bread and through the breading process. Through this, we realize God’s true love and meaning of becoming the true heirs of the Kingdom of God.
Why is Jesus called the Bread of life?
Jesus is the Bread of life because He is the basic essential and the main reason we are alive and kicking now. Through the Bread of Life (Jesus), we have found solace in the Holy Spirit and have been renewed to partakers in the Kingdom of God.
Jesus was sent into this world to preach about the Kingdom of God. Through His teachings, He called all mankind to realize the purpose of repentance and why it was necessary to enter the kingdom of God. However good He meant for us, we were still hesitant to change our ways and turn to God. He went further to accept the humiliation and be crucified for us. It culminates in the essence of being the Bread of life.
Bread is a staple food for our survival. By referring Himself to the Bread, he meant that He equates Himself to the Bread of life, simply to demonstrate that He is universal and readily available for all of us who want to follow through His teachings and become the believers of Christ.
How is Jesus the Bread of life?
Jesus is the source of all our needs. He provides for all that we ask Him. Jesus was here on earth in a human form and lived among us. He understands our weaknesses and shortcomings. He knows the areas in which we fall short of God’s race. He is ready and willing to fill us in areas we lack and make God’s grace sufficient in our lives.
Whenever we are pulled down because of our struggles and life challenges, Jesus is ready to lift us up and exalt us in the mighty power of the Holy Spirit. From the book of John 14:6, we learn that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one can go to the Father (God) unless he goes through Jesus. We, believers, are reminded to seek Jesus with all our hearts, all our minds, and all our strengths. We must work to conform to Jesus’ teaching so that we qualify to be called the children of God,
What is the significance of the Bread of life?
The Bread of life signifies that;
- Jesus is the true son of God
Through his teaching on the Bread of life, Jesus implies that he is the son of God and came down to show God’s power and teach about the kingdom of God. He calls us to join in the kingdom of God. Believing that Jesus is the Bread of life is trusting in God, that He is all-powerful and provider of all our needs.
- The bead of life signifies salvation.
Jesus came to the world to save mankind and reconcile us with God. The gospel of John 3:16 implies that God so loved the world that He sent His only one-begotten son so that whoever believes in Him may not perish but may have everlasting life. Jesus, as the Bread of life, came to rescue us from the slavery and bondage of sin. It is through Jesus’ passion and death on the cross that we received this salvation of God, and the whole world was redeemed from sinfulness.

By referring Himself to the Bread of life, Jesus shows that He is the only gateway to heaven. The only way we believers can enter the kingdom of God is by professing the name of Jesus and following His teachings. We are challenged to focus on the passion of Christ so that we deceive an eternal and everlasting life.
Why is it important that Jesus is the Bread of life?
It is essential that Jesus guides us through our life here on earth for us to get to our promised land. We cannot rely on our own spiritually without going through Jesus, who came down to save us from the bondage of sin and deliver us from every evil.
Professing our faith in Christ means that we are walking in the footsteps of God and will one day be welcomed to share in the glory of God.
As Christians, we are challenged to walk in the teachings of Jess and affirm our strong trust in all He teaches us to. Staying connected to Christ means our redemption and salvation in Christ.
