The end of the year signifies different things to different people. For some, it is the closing of a year that they have enjoyed great success, and for others, it is the close of a bad period in their lives, and they can’t wait for it to end.
But whatever your situation, you must have something to be thankful to God for. Whatever it is, this is the time to be joyous and thank God for the ending of this year.
With this in mind, lift your Spirit to your Father in Heaven, who has graciously brought you to the end of this year, and let us pray.
Almighty God,
I come to You this day to thank You for the year that is ending. Lord, I know it is by Your endless mercy that I am able to come this far. It is only through Your favor that I have seen the end of this year.
Many wished to be here today, but they are no more. God, with Your grace, I am here today, and for that, I am greatly thankful.
Heavenly Father, as the year comes to an end, I am grateful for your immense blessings upon me. Thank You, Lord, for the many milestones, achievements, and successes I have enjoyed throughout the year.
Thank you for the gift of a job, for through Your providence, I have not gone without. Lord, I know I am not special in any way, nor have I done anything to deserve Your blessings, and for that, God, I will be eternally thankful.
God, I thank You for the gift of good health. Many are ending the year in hospitals, and with various afflictions, but through Your favor, I am healthy.
Lord, I thank You for the gift of my family, for being with me and standing by me all through the year. May Your grace keep shining upon them.
God, I thank You for everyone who has had a positive influence on my life this year. May Your abundance to them never run out.
Lord, I am here today as a testimony of Your unending love and grace. As I sing and rejoice in Your blessings, may I never forget that it has all been possible through You.
God, as I see the end of the year, all thanks and glory are Yours. I pray all this in Jesus’ name.
Amen.
