What is Jesus doing for us today? Keep reading this article to learn more.
What did Jesus do for us when he was on earth?
The main purpose for Jesus on earth was to declare and proclaim the good news of the Kingdom of God. (Luke 4:43). Jesus, as the Messiah, though in a human form, came to show us the Kingdom of God and preach to us how one can enter into the Kingdom of God. Jesus had Power over nature. Through the Holy Spirit, He was able to teach about God’s kingdom and the manifestation of the will of God for those who would abide by God’s rule.
What does it mean that Jesus sacrificed himself for us?
It is essential to acknowledge the life of Jesus, so we to understand how He sacrificed Himself for us. Jesus is holy, innocent, undefiled, safe from sinners, and highly exalted above the heavens as the only son of the Almighty God. He had the choice over all evil to live righteously save from sin and earthly suffering.
However, He willingly chose to condescend down to the earth and share humiliation for the suffering of the entire world. He accepted to be spat on, humiliated, crucified on the cross, and die for the sake of the whole world’s sins. He chose the entire salvation of mankind over His righteousness.
By accepting to come down onto this earth selflessly and live in the comfort of the Heavens, it means that Jesus paid the ultimate price, which is sacrificing Himself for the world’s redemption. Jesus had a choice not to come down to earth, but instead, he felt for the world’s sins and became our source of forgiveness, mercy, and compassion to be our key to Heaven and the Kingdom of God.
What does it mean that Jesus reconciled us with God?
Reconciliation means making peace and being free to enjoy with God in His Kingdom. By sacrificing Himself for the sake of our sins and dying on the cross, Jesus demonstrated that he had sought mercy and pardon for us unto God the Almighty Father.
As depicted in the book of 2nd Corinthians 5:20, it says, “Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, so that God is exhorting through us. We beseech you for Chris, be reconciled to God.” The Bible says that, through Jesus, we are reconciled with God and are friends with the Almighty. By God sending His son to the earth and reconciling us with him, we learn to appreciate the presence of God in our lives and praise Jesus for the abundant gift of reconciliation, pardon, and mercy.
What is Jesus doing for us in Heaven?
Jesus went back to the Father through his incarnate stay on earth. He knows our weaknesses on earth and serves us each day in Heaven. Having died for us on the cross, he understands our points of need and is ready to help us straighten our ways, mend our ways and reach the kingdom of God. So, in Heaven, he plays a significant role for us unto the Father, God the Almighty Father. The words of the scripture tell us that Jesus is working on our behalf, interceding for us, advocating for us, and making great preparations in Heaven for our final journey home.
Jesus is interceding for us unto the Father.
While He came down to earth for our salvation, Jesus continues to intercede for us in Heaven and prays for our salvation. He cares for us and knows all our weaknesses. Jesus is closely involved in all our relationships with God as he is our representative in Heaven; in the book of Hebrews 7:25, “He can save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him since he always lives to make intercession for them” Jesus is our powerful intercessor to God.
He advocates on our behalf and seeks pardon before the Father whenever we see. Without tiring, Jesus continues with His work on the cross of salvation. He stands up for our sins in Heaven and pleads mercy unto the Father (1st John 2:1-2). In our weakness, Jesus comes in strong for us and shields us through all our daily temptations; He leads us into the right path of salvation that leads us unto the Kingdom of God.
Jesus is preparing a place for us in the Kingdom of God.
Jesus is waiting for our return to God the Father in glory, and rightfully, He is involved in making us a rightful place at the table of God. We hope to be in Heaven as we know that Jesus is present at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. Philippians 3:20 “But our way of life is in heaven, and from heaven, too, we await the Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ” We are reminded to count on Jesus whenever we feel that the world is unbearable to us, for Jesus has prepared for us a safe place at His Father’s house.
Jesus is ruling in Power.
From the book of Hebrews 8:1-2, we learn that “we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, a minister in the Holy places.” Jesus’ Power didn’t end on earth. He keeps ruling and is enthroned at the right hand of God the Father in Heaven. We are lucky to have him on the throne; he understands our weaknesses and is ready to lead us to salvation.
What is Jesus doing for us today?
Just as He taught us about the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus deeply prays for us to God the Almighty. The Bible says, “He is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us” Romans 8:34. Once Jesus left us on earth to carry on with his work of preaching the kingdom of God and living by God’s commandments, he is steadfastly praying for us to reach the kingdom of God.
