A tranquil prayer for mercy (Seek God’s mercy with this deep and powerful prayer)

God is faithful, and His mercy endures forever. He has compassion on everybody that He wills, as recorded in Exodus 33:19, and knowing He has mercy gives us confidence to seek it in prayers: “And the Lord said, ‘I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the Lord, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.'”

Now, open your heart to your Father in Heaven, and let us pray.

Dear Heavenly Fathers,

We approach your throne of mercy, for you are gracious, compassionate, abounding in love, and slow to anger. You want us to experience the goodness that comes through your love and limitless mercies.

That is why you renew your mercies every morning. We thank you for abundant mercy and the assurance that they are never-ending but renewed daily because of us.

I pray that you may extend your hand of mercy and forgive my sins. I need your mercy because I have not walked perfectly in your ways.

I am full of many shortcomings and do not meet the perfect demands of your commandments. Have mercy on me and forgive my sins because, in many instances, I have ignorantly broken your holy commands, setting myself for your just and righteous punishment.

I pray that you may have mercy on me because of your love that never fails. Remove all my sins and cleanse me.

Remember that I was born a sinner, and without your great mercy, I will not survive your righteous and just punishment.

Have mercy on me and redeem me from the many lusts of this body. Although I desire to do what is right, my body competes with my spirit to do what is wrong. Indeed, my body lusts against my spirit.

I pray that you may have mercy on me and create a good heart and the right spirit in me. Let not my wickedness go before me, but cause me to consider and follow your righteous paths.

My Father, I pray that you have mercy on me and do not take away your holy spirit from me. Heal my broken spirit. Restore me in your path and salvation.

Have mercy and accept this sacrifice of a contrite and broken heart, for such you have never rejected.

Redeem my mind and my lips that I may continuously live righteously before you. Accept my sacrifice of righteousness, and let me be a voice that tells of your goodness and mercy and warns of your righteous judgments.

Amen.
