As a Sunday school teacher, I love teaching the story of the lives of Adam and Eve, the first people to be created by God. I also teach about how they spent their lives in the Garden of Eden and their infamous ban. Last Sunday, we discussed the types of fruits that were in the Garden and whether the Garden is still there today. While at it, one of the kids asked, “Are Adam and Eve still alive?”
In this article, I will take you through what happened to Adam and Eve and how they died. Join me as I also embark on what happened to them in the end and when they died. Read on to find out more.
What happened to Adam and Eve?
As a result of Adam and Eve eating the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of evil and good, they were banished from the Garden of Eden. They then became mortals, as promised by God. Life also became harder for Adam and Eve. Eve was punished to experience pain during childbirth, which was passed down through the generations. Adam and Eve also had to till the soil to look for food. As mentioned in the Bible, Eve later gave birth to three children, Seth, Can, and Abel. After living for many years, both Adam and Eve died. It is believed that Adam outlived Eve.
How did Adam and Eve die?
We may never figure out how either Eve or Adam died. However, it is believed that they died due to old age, just as Adam died after living for 930 years, as seen in Genesis 5:5. It is believed that Eve died after living for at least 130 years.
Some interpreters believe that Adam and Eve died after consuming the forbidden fruit. However, their death was not physical but spiritual. Although their physical death was not immediate, they still experienced it as a result of their disobedient act. This is seen in Genesis 3:19, in which God tells them that they shall eat bread until they return to the ground, for out of dust they were taken, and to dust they will return.
What happened to Adam and Eve when they died?
The Bible does not mention what happened to Adam and Eve when they died. The book of Genesis mainly focuses on their lives when they were alive. However, it is believed that they suffered a spiritual death. This means Adam and Eve’s children could neither talk nor walk with God. They were separated from God, both spiritually and physically. Different religions have different beliefs about what happened to Adam and Eve when they died. For instance, some biblical scholars believe they went to Heaven when they died.
What happened to Adam and Eve in the end?
In the Bible, we see that when Adam and Eve disobeyed God, they were sent away from the Garden of Eden and had to live a life full of hardships. The Bible does not provide many details about what happened after. Adam and Eve died after living for many years and having children.
