A peaceful prayer for rest (Rest after a long day with this calming prayer)

Nothing is as refreshing as having a peaceful night’s sleep after having a long day filled with various activities. As you end your day, prepare your heart to give thanks to God and ask Him for a peaceful and restful night.

Let us pray.

Eternal and everlasting Father,

I thank you for allowing me to experience your goodness throughout the day. As I lay to rest tonight, I pray that you may send your guardian angels to watch over me.

Dear Lord, I pray for a peaceful night because your scripture encourages us to take rest because it is You who makes us dwell in safety.

As I put my mind, soul and body to rest I believe that your spirit is beside me to protect me from any harm and keep me from any disturbances throughout the night.

Lord, you are the sustainer of my soul. Fight for me through the night, do not allow anything to disrupt my sleep. Allow me to release all the thoughts that I may be having in my head and just relax in You.

I believe that you will make me secure in you for there is no weapon formed against me shall prosper. You’ve always shown me what it means to truly rest.

I pray that it may manifest in this night too for you are a God who listens and caters for my needs.

My heart is full of gratitude. I do not know the best way to repay for your unending mercies and goodness in my life. Thank you for the experiences I have had throughout the day.

I dedicate all my battles unto you Lord, make a way for me. Do not allow me to worry and lose my sleep tonight because I know nothing is impossible with You.

Although life is filled with challenges, I always choose to trust in You. I believe that you will see me through the night and wake me up again. Be in charge tonight for I do not know what will happen in me and around me.

Watch over my loved ones, shield them from the enemy and let them hold on to your strength, grace and wisdom. It is in Jesus’ Mighty name I pray.
