It can be hard to find the right words to express our feelings when we lose a loved one. It is also hard to accept death, but every person will die someday.
Now, as you recall the beautiful memories you shared with your loved one, prepare your heart to receive healing and comfort from God. Remember, God gives, and He takes away.
Open your heart to your creator as we pray.
Dear heavenly Father,
I dedicate the departed soul to Your loving arms. Let them find eternal rest in heaven. Free their spirit from pain and suffering and enable them to enjoy the glory of Your eternal love.
I glorify your name for the good life that they lived on earth and believe that the place where they went is better than where they left.
Let all their sins, worries, and sadness remain in the world. May they reunite with the relatives and friends who had gone ahead of them.
Please forgive their sins as they prepare to enter your kingdom. Allow them to find peace and freedom in releasing burdens of resentment or guilt from their heart.
Fill them with your mercy and assure them of your unconditional love.
Dear Lord, bless me and comfort me as I mourn that with your love, I may face each new day with hope and the certainty that no one can destroy the good that has been given.
Enable me to cherish all the good moments we shared and open my eyes to realize how precious life is. Teach me to always number my days and live wisely so that when my day comes, I can be saved by your son, Jesus Christ, our savior.
Even in this hard time, dear Lord, I believe that you hear my cry and, you are compassionate, and your love is still steadfast.
Be present in my life, carry me through this heartache, sustain me, and bring me joy and hope.
I believe that in the end, death shall be no more, and there will be no more mourning, crying, or pain, for the former things have passed away.
May they rest in eternal peace.
Amen.
